On December 31, the second “Ice & Snow Feast” of Qinghai · Qing Tang City opened in the Chengbei District of Xining. Spread over a 425,000‑square‑meter exhibition area, the event features seven themed zones. Organizers used 10,000 cubic metres of ice to build multiple ice‑gate towers, 88 ice sculptures, and more than 2 km of ice walls. Light‑and‑shadow shows, drone displays, and fireworks create an immersive experience that drew countless locals and tourists to the New Year’s celebration.

The festival also highlights local food and folk traditions. Seventy vendors are on site, over 40,800 temporary parking spaces have been added, and several shuttle routes run to the venue. Throughout the New Year’s holiday a program of cultural and tourism performances continues, and the regular operation will run until March 8. In partnership with nearby areas such as Qilian and Qumalai, special travel itineraries are also being offered. To date, more than 265,000 visitors have attended, generating roughly ¥7 million in direct spending and stimulating over ¥15 million in surrounding commercial activity.
